The End : To another day.

An end to a wonderful day has almost arrived.   We've seen Zoe's personality blossom bit by bit.   It is so cute to watch her try to figure things out.   For example, today she wore capri leggings which apparently she has never had on before.   So she tried to pull them down, but they weren't long enough so then she tried to make shorts out of them by pulling them way up on her thighs!   Anytime she gets her hands on something she tries to keep it all for herself by hiding it or holding on and grabbing more things to fill up her arms.   And when she sits waiting (ie dinner etc.) she fidgets with her hands as if just trying to occupy herself.   So many of the little things she does make my heart break.  And yet on the flip side she shows her ornery spirit and strong willed attitude.   She definitely has a mind of her own.   I can't wait to get her home and all settled.  In the meantime, the adventure continues with shopping, going to the huge grocery store (they always seem to be down in the basements below the shopping malls); trying to find food when we speak little mandarin, and trying to get the food we want in restaurants.   It really is all a wonderful adventure and I write this blog so we can remember it all to share with Zoe when she is older.  By tomorrow I will have forgotten half of this already because my mind will be full of all the experience of that day.

We miss you so much Brady and wish you could have been here with us.

Cheryl,
I've been traveling and have just now gotten a chance to catch up on everything. As I sit in my hotel room tonight, my heart is so full. I'm so happy for you all. As I read through each post, it took me back to when we were there. It really seems like a lifetime ago. Malia is such a part of me (of all of us) that I sometimes forget how it all began for her. To be honest, I don't like to think about it. But as I read your post about Zoe's birth, it made me cry. It's all so true. And you couldn't have written it more beautifully. We are praying for you guys. I can't wait to read about your adventures every day. And Zoe is so beautiful! It's so good to see that she looks so healthy!
I love you dear friend. We're praying for you all!

Congratulations on your beautiful daughter! I will be praying for your family and sweet Zoe as you continue to bond and discover more about one another with each new day. We are waiting to travel to meet our daughter Yong Mei who is also waiting at the Baotou SWI. Thank you for sharing your journey. It is a blessing to get a glimpse of some of the things we may see in a few short months. If you visit the SWI and see our little girl it would be a gift if you could give her a hug from her family. May God continue to bless your time in China.

Cheryl,
I'm sitting here with tears running down my face, both with sadness and joy. It's so hard to think of all the children who are cast off when we value our children so much. It's also amazing how much difference one family can make, not only to your children, but to all the families, nannies, and bureaucrats whose lives you also touch!

Blessings to you and all the people who are helping these children!
